The Dallas Indoor Play Park Holiday Party is Friday, December 11th! Come join us for crafts, snacks, and a special visit from Santa! Please sign up at the Park to bring a party food item to share.

***We still need someone to fill Santa's suit! Please let Mary Ann know if you are able to play Santa for our party!***

General Reminder-

Please keep food & beverages in the designated snack eating area. There have been a lot of crumbs and spills throughout the play area lately and this will help keep the park clean and the bugs out.

Closers- Please sweep and vacuum when needed if it has been a messy day at the park.

Fall Semester Information

FALL INDOOR PARK MEETING DATES: First meeting will be Friday Oct. 16th and the second meeting will be Wednesday Oct. 21st. Both will begin at 10:00am and last about 30 min. (kids play while meeting is taking place) *All Dallas Indoor Park Members must attend one meeting per term.

DUES: FALL MEMBERSHIP FEE IS DUE BY OCT. 16TH. We pay the church our ($200.00) donation check at the end of this month for usage of their building for the play park.

Membership fee per term is: $20.00. Mops special for this Fall-term only is $15.00. Openers/Closers receive a discount rate of half the dues per term served. See Mary Ann or Kristy if you have any questions or may need a scholarship for Fall term.

TOY CLEANING DATE: Monday Nov 2nd. To help keep the play park as germ free as possible this year, we are going to have two Toy Cleaning dates per term. The second one this term will be in Mid-Dec. Members are encouraged to help clean toys and park area; it goes by quickly when there is a large turn out.

PARTIES: Harvest Party Friday Oct. 30th, Turkey Party Wednesday Nov. 18th, Christmas Party Friday Dec. 11th.

CALENDAR: We will be open on school holidays excluding Thanksgiving & Christmas. Members need to sign up to open/close on the other school holidays. If no one signs up-on the calendar, then we will be closed on those days. Calendar is on the wall by sign up table.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME EXCHANGE/SWAP-*Begins next week Oct. 5th. Bring your costumes you won't be wearing this Halloween to DIP. We will be having a exchange/borrow costume table set up in the kitchen next to the swap table. Here's how it works: Sign your costumes in, another member checks them out and brings the costumes back to DIP the week following Halloween.

Summer Time!

Today was the last day of Indoor Park for the semester, we will start up again on Wednesday, September 2nd. Until then here's the schedule of summer events that are open to everyone, not just DIP members:

June 18th - Thursday - Library Event: Music at the Civic Center 3:00pm

June 19th - Friday - DIP Event: Dallas Aquatic Center. Group rate is $1.50 per person. Meet at pool at 10:00am, 1005 SE La Creole Dr. Dallas. Please Bring Cash for swimming pool fee.

June 25th - Thursday - DIP Event: A.C. Gilbert House. Group rate is $3.75 per 10 or more DIP members (children under age one are free). Please Bring Cash for entrance fee, one adult chaperone per five kids. Meet at 10:00am at the entrance.

June 25th - Thursday - Library Event: Comedy at Dallas City Park under main Pavilion 3:00pm

July - DIP Event: Dallas Police Station Tour *TBA*

July 2nd - Thursday - Library Event: Magic Show at Dallas City Park 3:00pm

July 9th - Thursday - DIP Event: Independence Movie Theater presents "New" Ice Age in 3D. Group rate is $5 per person for 25 or more in our group. This will enable us to have a private theater before doors open up to the public. There is also a kids "Movie Snack Pack" available for purchase; includes a soda or lemonade, snack & popcorn for $3. The theater will have these set up prior to our arrival if we tell them how many to make the day before. If you want a snack pack email maryannliss@hotmail.com 2 days before the event. Bring cash! Movie starts at 9:30am and we'll meet in front of the box office at 9:00am.

July 9th - Thursday - Library Event: Puppet Show at Dallas City Park 3:00pm

July 9th - August 27th - Sounds of Summer: 6:30 -8:30pm live music. Free at the Rotary Performing Arts stage on the corner of Main St. and Academy St.

July 21st - Tuesday - DIP Event: Scotty's Playhouse in McMinnville. NW's largest indoor play structure. Free for children ages 11 and under. Meet at 10:00am and it is open until noon. 700 N Hill Rd. (503) 472-8476

July 23rd - Thursday - Library Event: Storyteller at Dallas City Park 3:00pm

July 25th- DIP Event: Summerfest Parade 10:30am. Theme is "Oregon's 150th Birthday Celebration". Please contact maryannliss@hotmail.com if you would like to walk/ride with our DIP group in the parade!

July 23-26th- Summerfest Activities:
  • Breakfast in the Park: Pancakes, eggs, ham, juice/coffee in Dallas City Park. Fee paid at food line, park entrance is Levens St.
  • Arts in the Park: Free childrens area with activities (near new play area, Academy park entrance)

August 4th - Tuesday - DIP Event: Salem Caousal meet at 10:30am at the Salem Waterfront Park. Fee is $1.50 per ride (parent can ride free is standing next to child). There's an outside play park next to the carousal. Pack a lunch, snack, and drinks if you plan on staying longer. Great area to fly a kite or bring bikes!

August 6th - Thursday - DIP Event: Kids Bumper Bowling at Star Lite Lanes in Dallas. Meet at 394 Main St. at 11:30am. Cost is $5 per child and includes 2 games and shoe rental.

Winter Term is almost over!

The end of Winter term is coming for Indoor Play Park & we will celebrate the upcoming summer with our yearly Luau on May 29th, Fri. the last day of this term. There will be fun crafts at this potluck event. Sign-up sheet will be at the front table to bring a treat to share.

FALL TERM POSTIONS- If you're able to be more involved next term, please let me know if you're able to take on an Indoor Park postion for the upcoming Fall term in Sept. A new postion sign up sheet will be at the park sign-in table or you can email me if you are interested in one of the Parks postions. The main postions are: openers/closers, Secretary, Treasurer other positions are: Toys, Purchaser, Crafts, Party, Bulletins, and Librarian.

For everyone who took on more responsibilities at Dallas Indoor Park this year in one of of positions "Thank You" for helping our co-op play park run smoothly.

Parade- If you plan on being in the parade this year let Maryann know and she will send out details of the event as it draws nearer in July. We are working on coordinating a float this year and riding bikes.

Easter Egg Hunt!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG AND IT IS THAT TIME FOR OUR INDOOR PARK EASTER EGG HUNT AND PARTY.

IT WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY APRIL 10TH. THE EGG HUNT WILL BEGIN AT 10:30 AM AND WILL BE UPSTAIRS LIKE LAST YEAR.

EGG FILLERS: PLEASE BRING A BAG OF WRAPPED TREATS OR PRIZES TO HELP FILL THE PLASTIC EGGS FOR THE HUNT. BRING THE FILLERS TO DIP BEFORE THE DAY OF THE EGG HUNT & PLACE IN THE CRAFT CLOSET SO THE EGGS CAN BE FILLED PRIOR TO THE PARTY DAY ON WED. THE 8TH.

PLASTIC EGGS: IF YOU HAVE ANY PLASTIC EGGS YOU'D LIKE TO DONATE TO THE PLAY PARK THIS YEAR THAT WOULD BE GREAT. WE DO HAVE A LARGE BIN OF PLASTIC EGGS AT DIP BUT COULD ALWAYS USE MORE, WE WERE A BIT LOW LAST YEAR WITH THIS BEING A LARGE TURN OUT DAY FOR OUR MEMBERS.

PARTY POT LUCK: KARIN (PARTY SOCIAL)WILL HAVE A SIGN-UP SHEET POSTED AT THE PARK AT THE SIGN-IN TABLE TO SIGN UP TO BRING A SNACK OR DISH TO SHARE.

CRAFTS: BROOKE (CRAFT LEADER) WILL HAVE A FUN KIDS EASTER CRAFT FOR THEM TO ENJOY MAKING.

EGG BASKETS: IF YOUR CHILD(REN) ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE EGG HUNT: PLEASE BRING A BASKET FOR THEM TO COLLECT THEIR EGGS IN.

END OF PARTY: HAVE THE CHILDREN EMPTY THEIR EGGS, KEEP THEIR TREATS AND PUT THE PLASTIC EGGS BACK INTO OUR EGG BIN TO RE-USE THE EGGS FOR NEXT YEARS HUNT.

Spring Fling Open House

SPRING FLING

“OPEN HOUSE”

2nd Week of March

FREE during these days:

9th, 11th & 13th

Hours: 9:30 am-11: 30 am

  • Come visit Dallas’s only Indoor Play Park for children 0-5 years of age.
  • We’ll have fun activities in our Craft room: Painting, Play dough & Puppet making.
  • Along with morning refreshments.

Dallas Indoor Park is held in the First Presbyterian church. It is not affiliated with the church.

Host a Birthday Party at Indoor Park!

Members only of Dallas Indoor Play Park are able to utilize our Indoor Park space for Birthday Parties on Saturday’s.

1. Time usage at Play Park:

The parties are able to use the space at the Indoor Play Park for a two-hour time frame.

These times are 10:00am to 12:00pm OR 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday’s only.

2. Fee:

The fee will be provided to the Church as a form of donation for use of the facility outside of the DIP operating hours. The fee of $15.00 must be made prior to the day of the event. All checks should be made out to First Presbyterian Church. Place funds in red drop-in fee box on sign-in table along with a receipt (receipt book is kept on the sign-in table). Obtain donation receipt at time of reservation.

3. Reservations:

A designated Reservation Birthday Calendar will be available at the sign-in table. It is based on first-come, first-served. A maximum of one birthday party can be scheduled for each Saturday. At this time, there is a 60 person maximum capacity for each event; this is to include all children, parents, and relatives.

Birthday Party Agreement and Liability Waiver must be read and signed by the responsible party prior to reserving a party date. The waiver needs to be placed in the secretary’s file and the guidelines and rules kept by the responsible member to follow at the party date. Maryann e-mailed the waiver to all current members and they can also be found on the sign-in table.

4. Party supplies & cleaning supplies:

Responsible Party must bring their own supplies and trash bags for clean up at the end of their event. See Item 10 for clean-up details.

5. Food and Drinks:

You may utilize the kitchen for storing your food items on the day of the party. There is a refrigerator and a freezer in the kitchen, which can be utilized for this purpose.

Take all food and drinks with you upon leaving the premises the day of the event.

Children’s tables for eating are allowed only in the designated snack area.

Additional fold-up tables and chairs (adult and child sized) are available to set up for food tables. All extra tables and chairs must be put away at end of the event.

6. Rules for Park Play and usage of Dallas Indoor Park Toys:

All toys are to be used only as they were designed to be used, by children age five and under only. No throwing of toys, jumping off benches, or riding vehicles on the carpet. You may not bump into any walls, objects, people, or other vehicles when using a riding vehicle.

No marks to be made on the walls, benches, etc.

Play is limited to the play area only. No children in the kitchen, other rooms, or hallway without their guardian or person responsible for the party.

Please supervise all bathroom activities with your children. Take all wet and soiled diapers home with you. There is a nursery changing table available for use, but children are not allowed to play in the nursery. Please leave the changing area tidy and take soiled diapers with you.

* No Smoking is allowed on Premises.

7. Responsibility / Liability for DIP toys and Church Property:

The Responsible Party will be held accountable for any/all broken or damaged items belonging to Dallas Indoor Park, or designated Church Property. It is expected any damaged or broken items will be replaced in a timely manner (recommended two week time frame) as to not affect DIP operations. It is suggested to contact the coordinator the day before the event to survey and note any prior damage to the toys or facility.

Report any damage to the toys or play area to a coordinator on the Monday following the event.

8. Crafts, Games and Decorations:

All Decorations, including party games or favors, must be taken down at the end of the event.

Any Crafts must be made on non-carpeted areas.

9. Building Security:

Make sure all doors and windows are secured prior to exiting the Church. Make sure back door is locked when leaving. Make sure key is left securely inside of the lock box.

Use the Allen wrench to stick the front door latch open during the event. Upon leaving, use Allen wrench to release locking door latch and double check that the front door is locked securely upon leaving building.

Responsible Party will be held accountable for any loss or damage to Church property stemming from an unsecured facility.

10. Facility Clean-up:

The DIP play area will be left in a clean manner as it was found prior to the event. All toys, riding vehicles, basketball hoop, and other large toys will be left next to the wall by the broom closet. Place all other small toys on the carpet or in the bins under the bench.

Turn off and unplug the coffee pot. Clean out the coffee and hot water from the thermos air-pots; insure stove-top burners are OFF. Make sure drink area is thoroughly cleaned.

*Take all Party Food and Beverages with you.

Empty and take out all garbage from used bins. New trash can liners must be brought with you for the event. The garbage cans are in the bathroom, by the entry table, and by the kitchen. Replace trash can liners with new bags. Take the trash home with you.

Spray and wipe down all counters and tables. Spray cleaner and rag or sponge must be brought with you for the event.

Sweep all bare floor areas. Dust mop and broom are located in the broom closet.

**Mop the entire park area. Mop and bucket are located in the broom closet. Cleaning solution is under the Kitchen sink and in Bathroom cleaning supply closet.

Clean the bathroom including the bathroom mirror. Also clean the smaller white mirror in the play area. Spray cleaner and rag or sponge must be brought with you for the event.

Cleaning supplies to bring:

-All-purpose spray cleaner for counters, tables, bathroom, mirrors

-Trash can liners (13 gal or larger)

-Rags or sponges for cleaning

Vacuum carpeted area and empty vacuum bag.

Turn off all lights.

Dallas Indoor Park is not responsible for any belongings left at the Church.

Please be courteous and respectful while using the Facility, and PLEASE leave DIP area as you found it.

Indoor Park Meeting

The last meeting of term at the Indoor Play Park is next Fri. Feb.6th at 10am. The Park Bylaws state all members must attend one park meeting per term so if you were unable to attend the first meeting you must attend this one.

We will be having grab bag prizes and serving breakfast sweet treat with coffee/tea.

Please let Kristy or MaryAnn know if you are not able to attend , and they can pass on important park information to you.
